Today is India's 64th Independence Day, so Happy Independence Day India!! This week has mostly been about cukes, beans and eggplants. Still no sign of ripe tomatoes.... ok, maybe a couple tiny ones. I guess we will see all of them ripen at about the same time. In the meantime, we will certainly enjoy our cukes and eggplants(and everything else in between)!

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great harvest. I love eggplants. Looks like you got a nice variety of them this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks! This year eggplants are producing better than everything else! I've also sowed varied varieties, so that helps! Ofcourse, pests are already devouring some of the eggplants, but that's ok, atleast we're still getting to harvest some.
ReplyDeleteNice harvest...do you store/preserve eggplants for future or use them ?
ReplyDeleteSarada - So far, we've been using them right away!
ReplyDeleteHi - I'm curious about the sweet banana peppers. They look great. Have you grown them before? How are you using them? I'm already starting to think about next year's garden. My selection's pretty basic - some heirloom tomatoes, a smattering of peppers and various herbs (you can see some pics at revelgardener.com). Next year, though, I'm thinking about adding a new item or two. Any suggestions? Congrats, btw, on all beautiful and yummy-looking harvest!
ReplyDeleteRevel Gardener - Yes, I've grown sweet banana peppers before. Usually, in our house, it is battered and fried :) I'm also adding new items every year - this year it was cantelope and butternut squash!! Results on those are not out yet(still none harvested)!
ReplyDeleteWow so many harvest for each varieties. Those eggplants look very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
